CT Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes, performing computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, and acquiring necessary data for diagnosis and interpretation. They are also responsible for preparing and administering medications, ensuring patient safety through ALARA principles, and evaluating image quality.
Candidates must have graduated from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology and possess ARRT or NMTCB certification upon hire, with new graduates needing registry before their first day. Applicants hired after a specific date must also complete steps for advancing to level 2 within 24 months.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) OR Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) need upon hire. New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or NMTCB prior to first day of employment. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months of hire.
