The Audiologist is responsible for administering and interpreting various tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, evaluating results against behavioral and social factors, and determining causation and prognosis for hearing loss and tinnitus. Duties also include operating computerized programs for EMR entry, maintaining confidentiality, conducting otoscopic exams, managing cerumen, performing equipment calibration checks, training paraprofessionals, and completing Disability Benefit Questionnaires for the Veterans Benefits Administration.
Required qualifications include a Doctorate Degree in Audiology from an accredited institution and a current, unrestricted Audiologist license in the state of employment, along with ASHA and/or AAA certification prior to hire. Candidates must also possess 3+ years of clinic practice experience and be able to obtain and maintain necessary government clearances and medical clearances, including respirator fit testing.
Leidos QTC Medical Services, Inc., operating under the brand name Leidos QTC Health Services, is seeking an Audiologist at one of our California clinics (Sacramento, Daly City, Arcata, Canoga Park, Chula Vista, Fremont, Fresno, Lancaster, Long Beach, Modesto, Oceanside, Palm Desert, Redding, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Ana, Temecula) to help ensure our service members get the best care possible. The scope of practice of the audiologist is to provide a professional opinion to the severity of the hearing problem, the diagnosis, the causation, and assessing the probability that the hearing problem is related to occupational exposure.
The examinations may be completed in-person (in a clinic setting), in the examinee’s home, telephonically, at large event settings for the Reserve Health Readiness Program or using telehealth platforms.
You will be traveling (up to 50%) to provide physical examinations for veterans and service members in multiple locations throughout the country. All travel expenses are covered and a per diem will be received.
• Experience conducting occupational/disability medical examinations.
