The Physician Assistant will perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, evaluate and manage patients with various cardiac conditions, and order/interpret diagnostic tests in collaboration with cardiologists. Responsibilities also include developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, providing patient education, and documenting all clinical encounters accurately.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Physician Assistant program and hold an active PA license in the relevant state, along with NCCPA certification. Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills, along with excellent communication abilities, are required, with outpatient cardiology experience preferred but strong new graduates considered.
Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including patient histories and physical exams Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hyperlipidemia Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests (EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter/event monitors, labs) Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with cardiology physicians Prescribe medications and manage ongoing therapy per clinical guidelines Provide patient education regarding disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications Document all clinical encounters accurately in the EMR Coordinate care with referring providers, imaging, and ancillary services Support quality initiatives and clinical protocols within the cardiology service line #INDHP
