The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant provides medical care in specialty clinic offices, managing acute episodic problems and stable chronic conditions alongside physicians and other staff. This role involves health promotion, disease prevention, and communicating care needs to patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Candidates must meet specific educational and experiential requirements for either Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant roles, including a Master's Degree and relevant clinical experience or certification. Mississippi licensure/certification is mandatory for both roles.
The Memorial Specialty Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant renders medical care to patients within the specialty care setting of clinic offices and is responsible for management of acute episodic problems and stable chronic conditions in addition to health promotion and disease prevention in conjunction with physicians and other healthcare staff. The nurse practitioner communicates care needs with patients, families, and the healthcare team for the continuance of care. The nurse practitioner identities and implements best practices to achieve improved outcomes and greater effectiveness of patient care.
