The technologist performs various diagnostic radiographic exams and C-arm fluoroscopy, assisting with invasive procedures in the Neurosurgery Group using sterile technique. This role involves utilizing radiographic equipment to create high-quality images for cranial and spinal patients while working closely with providers during procedures like epidural steroid injections.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved JRCERT radiologic program and possess ARRT certification or be registry eligible within one year. Required experience includes basic computer skills and medical/hospital clinical experience, with preference given to those with prior hospital background and fluoroscopy specialty training.
Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic exams and C-arm fluoroscopy. When working within the Erlanger Neurosurgery, the radiologic technologist will report to the Regional Manager.
Required: A graduate of an approved JRCERT radiologic program (The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology).

Required: Medical and/or hospital clinical experience required Basic computer experience (1-2 years' work experience or college level classes)
Preferred: Prior hospital and/or physician office background and specialty training in fluoroscopy with procedures
Preferred: CNMT certified
The technologist assists with invasive procedures using sterile technique. This position requires independent judgment and initiative in utilization of traditional, computerized, and digital radiographic equipment to create high quality diagnostic radiographic images for cranial and spinal patients. Working with the provider to assist using Fluoroscopy C-arm with procedures such as epidural steroid injections and radio frequency ablations. Assist with draping, positioning and prepping for these procedures, assisting nursing staff with monitoring sedation cases. Ordering and stocking of supplies needed for specialty cases within the department. Working with pharmacy daily to order and supply contrast for procedures.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the Erlanger Neurosurgery Department.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
