Formulary Operations Specialist

Scope of Responsibilities

• The Formulary Operations Specialist serves as a critical member of the Vertex team, responsible for synthesizing and delivering accurate, market trend deliverables to internal and external entities. This role ensures the integrity of drug pipeline maps, market trend analysis, and formulary documentation while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The position will create draft reviews for submittal to Director of Clinical and Formulary Operations for approval prior to delivery to various internal and external parties.

• Summary: The Formulary Operations Specialist is a highly independent and structural role within the Vertex team. This member is responsible for monitoring and identifying market changes and trends to ensure Vertex maintains a strong competitive position. This member is also responsible for developing key deliverables for internal and external clients expressing formulary, trends, placement, and differentiating information. Develop and deliver accurate market trend analyses, drug pipeline maps, and formulary documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of formulary-related deliverables across all outputs. Monitor and synthesize market and pipeline trends to support strategic and operational decision-making. Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory and organizational standards in all formulary materials. Prepare and coordinate draft reviews for submission to the Director of Clinical and Formulary Operations. Incorporate feedback and revisions to finalize deliverables prior to distribution. Collaborate cross-functionally to align formulary operations deliverables with business and clinical objectives.

• Education/Licensure:
• Required: High School Diploma or GED National
• Certification as a
• Pharmacy
• Technician in good standing
• Experience:
• Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in drug information, formulary management, or managed care pharmacy.

Preferred

• Exposure to cost-effectiveness analysis and integration of clinical insights with financial considerations. Prior involvement in pipeline monitoring and formulary strategy development. Experience collaborating with analytics and finance teams for rebate and formulary optimization.
