The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position is part of the Therapy Services department and is a full-time role working 80 hours per two-week pay period.
This position primarily provides outpatient therapy services, with a focus on pediatric patients, and may also support inpatient services as needed based on staffing.
The COTA works under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to individuals with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments to improve their ability to perform daily activities and maintain independence.
Standard working hours are day shift with occasional weekend requirements.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required.
Completion of all required fieldwork and successful passing of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam required to use the title “COTA.” Current CPR certification required.
Minimum of two years of recent, relevant experience preferred or equivalent clinical experience under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Demonstrated ability to perform required skills and competencies.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and observation skills.
Ability to work one-on-one with patients while demonstrating compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle as a role model for patients and staff.
Proficient computer skills, including documentation and communication.
