The Licensed Practical Nurse is primarily responsible for dispensing clinic medications and ensuring the completeness of all medical aspects within the patient's medical record. Duties include setting up and dispensing medication, monitoring inventory, reconciling controlled substances like Methadone and Suboxone, and processing physician orders.
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited nursing program and possess an active Licensed Practical Nurse license in Virginia, along with some understanding of substance abuse. Required qualifications also include the ability to make independent decisions, proficiency with personal computers, excellent communication skills, and successful completion of background checks and required training.
Sets up for dispensing of medication and dispenses medication. Monitors medication inventory and reports to charge nurses. Reconciles inventory of Methadone and Suboxone at conclusion of dosing Signs and processes physician orders. Enters notes and inputs flags as per physician orders Processes phase change requests Participates on Treatment team and regular Medical Meetings as per Licensure standards. Be proficient with State Licensure Standards, CARF Standards, 42 CFR and HIPAA standards and Company policies. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in VA Some understanding of substance abuse. Ability to make independent decisions when needed Proficient in the use of personal computers Excellent oral and written communication skills Successful completion of State required background check and required training.
