The Chaplain is primarily responsible for delivering spiritual care services to patients, their families, and hospital staff, functioning as an integral part of interdisciplinary patient care teams. This role involves addressing emotional and spiritual needs, coordinating religious support, and ensuring compliance with departmental procedures and quality improvement plans.
Candidates must possess a Master of Divinity or related Master's degree (or be in process of obtaining one) and have required experience working as a chaplain in a healthcare setting, which can include internship or residency. Essential qualifications include successful completion of at least one unit of CPE, endorsement from their spiritual tradition leadership, and a broad interfaith theological knowledge base.
The Chaplain will provide spiritual care for patients, family and staff. The Chaplain will function as an interdisciplinary member of the patient unit care teams addressing emotional, spiritual, and other support needs. The chaplain is an invaluable asset to the spiritual care department. While offering expertise and flexibility they are esteemed because of their adaptability and availability.
