The Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker (MHRW) primarily provides support and supervision to clients in a residential setting, assisting with rehabilitation activities and clinical team collaboration. Key tasks include administrative duties like progress notes, supervising clients during meals and outings, and helping with household chores and meal preparation.
Candidates need a High School Diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social welfare, or counseling, and must provide transcripts. A minimum of one year of mental health work experience is preferred, but training is provided for those without specific eating disorder experience.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities In collaboration with the Program Administrator and clinical team, the MHRW will: Assist with activities involving rehabilitation and therapy. Be responsible for administrative tasks, such as completing progress notes and other client documentation. Provide support and supervision during client meals and between groups. Supervise and escort clients to medical and dental appointments, community outings, and other activities. Assist with household chores, shopping and meal preparation. Attend monthly staff meetings, including in-service trainings. **Please be advised that Sunol Hills at Oakview is taking every precaution to keep both clients and staff safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Incoming clients must receive a negative COVID test prior to admission, and staff are provided masks to wear at all times while onsite. We also maintain a thorough cleaning and sanitization schedule, conduct temperature checks, and currently limit visitors to solely parent/guardian meetings outdoors with clients.
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year experience in mental health work, preferably in a residential setting preferred. If no experience, we will train. Education High School Diploma or equivalent. B.A. Degree in psychology, social welfare or counseling is preferred. Must provide a transcript regarding educational background. Other Requirements Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening. Must provide TB testing. Must have valid California Driver’s License; good driving record. Proof of current auto insurance and must meet insurability requirements of Sunol Hills insurance carrier.
