Qualifications

• (Minimum qualifications will be considered required unless specifically stated otherwise) Experience:
• Minimum of one (I) to two (2) year's experience in health care preferred.
• Experience in acute care in an institutional setting preferred.
• Experience in homecare preferred. Education and Training: (Acquired through formal education, outside study, training on jobs of lesser degree, or by any combination of these. May be expressed in terms of formal educational equivalents):
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Satisfactory completion of a training program approved by M.D.P.H. for HCA-II and other regulators.
• Training equivalent to an approved certification program (such as C.N.A. or Student Nurse), applicants must be oriented to home care. License, Certification & Registration:
• Possesses and maintains current CPR Certification.
• Current Massachusetts licensure: Certified Nursing Assistant
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance Other Requirements:
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
• Strong observation skills and problem solving skills.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Ability to provide a calm and empathetic demeanor in patient's homes.

Job Limitations

The CNA will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to the Nurse Practice Act Specifically, the CNA will not administer medications, take physician's orders or perform procedures requiring training, knowledge and skill of a licensed nurse, such as sterile technique.

• May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold in all weather conditions. Must drive in various weather conditions on roads in varying repair.
• May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases. Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. May be exposed to/occasionally exposed to patient elements. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency or crisis situations. Travel required. OSHA exposure category:
