The Family Medicine Physician with Obstetrics will provide comprehensive primary care across all ages while also delivering obstetric services, including prenatal, delivery, and postpartum management. Key duties involve managing low- to moderate-risk pregnancies, performing deliveries, and coordinating care within a multidisciplinary team.
Candidates must possess an MD or DO from an accredited school and complete an accredited Family Medicine residency with obstetric training, achieving board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine. Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in Pennsylvania and DEA registration are also mandatory requirements.
Family Medicine Physician with Obstetrics (FM-OB)Position Summary The Family Medicine Physician with Obstetrics provides comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan while also delivering obstetric services, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum management. This role emphasizes continuity of care, preventive medicine, and collaborative obstetric practice within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Key Responsibilities Provide full-scope outpatient primary care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Deliver prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for obstetric patients Manage low- to moderate-risk pregnancies within scope of training and privileges Perform vaginal deliveries and assist with obstetric procedures as credentialed Conduct well-woman exams, gynecologic care, and family planning services Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions Order, interpret, and document diagnostic tests and imaging Coordinate care with obstetrics, nursing, pediatrics, anesthesia, and specialty services Provide patient education on pregnancy, childbirth, preventive care, and wellness Participate in call coverage for obstetric services as required Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation Support quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives Practice Setting Outpatient family medicine clinic with obstetric services Hospital-based labor and delivery coverage as part of OB responsibilities Schedule may include clinic sessions, call shifts, and delivery coverage Patient Population Patients of all ages across the lifespan Obstetric patients with low-risk pregnancies
