The specialist manages a caseload of newly admitted patients, providing individual and group counseling services while ensuring their basic needs are met and coordinating care within the community. Key duties include conducting mandated intakes, assessments, and treatment plans, as well as monitoring patients for relapse indicators.
Candidates must possess an associate degree or the majority of approved counselor certification courses, license, or certification required to provide counseling services, noting specific bachelor's degree requirements for Kern County. A minimum of 2-5 years of experience is mandatory, along with maintaining continuing education compliance and possessing specific knowledge in addiction treatment and professional skills.

Additionally, you will conduct intakes and necessary assessments within the specified timelines as mandated by federal and state regulations, CARF guidelines, and Pinnacle policies and procedures.
