Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer service-focused Intern to join our Medical Records Team!
NWSH provides paid internship opportunities for high school and college-age students looking to garner medical industry experience while pursuing educational endeavors.
The Intern is responsible for supporting various projects throughout the hospital facility.
Projects often include data collection, review, and aggregation.
The emphasis of this program is to provide fundamental professional development to enhance your knowledge and expertise.
Communication, support, public interfacing, flexibility and adapting to changing work environments are all part of the internship learning process.
Position is seasonal in nature (non-benefitted), not to exceed five months.
Essential Functions & Qualifications
Provides entry-level professional services as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives of the department
Support facility department managers in various projects
Support screening stations while engaging community pandemic response
Engage customer service skills with all level of stakeholders
Ability to communicate in professional manner with patients, colleagues, and community
Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments
Openness to variable schedule and project assignments
Enthusiasm for the mission of NWSH and patients we serve
Ability to work independently and with a team
Intermediate computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office
Ability to verbally communicate in a professional manner with patients, colleagues, and community
Other duties as assigned
