This position specializes in performing a variety of anterior segment testing, focusing on the testing component of patient care while maintaining total patient care as the main objective. Essential duties include performing and evaluating various tests like biometry, keratometry, A-scans, auto refraction, and corneal topography.
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, with an Associate's degree preferred, and previous specialized testing experience is desired. Candidates must possess a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification, with the Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification being preferred.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. Previous specialized testing experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required. Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.
SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY Regularly uses Ophthalmic equipment/devices per sub-specialty requirement such as keratometer; phoropter; visual acuity measuring/B-VAT; ultrasound unit; specular microscopy unit; corneal topography unit; retinoscope; slit lamp microscope. Other equipment may be used as needed. Telephone, computer, fax, printer and copier.
