The Outpatient Coder/Abstractor is responsible for accurately coding, sequencing, and abstracting outpatient medical records according to ICD-9-CM and CPT guidelines to ensure timely reimbursement and accurate statistical data population. This role involves querying physicians for documentation clarification while exercising independent judgment within established guidelines.
A minimum of one year of outpatient coding experience is required, along with a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Candidates must possess knowledge of Health Information Systems practices and demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Ability to utilize verbal and written communication skills effectively. Ability to use interpersonal, presentation and project management skills.
