The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner manages acute psychiatric conditions and substance withdrawal care, performing age-appropriate psychiatric evaluations and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests in collaboration with an MD. Key functions include prescribing treatment modalities, monitoring intervention effectiveness, participating in treatment teams, and ensuring patient confidentiality compliance.
Candidates must possess an APRN NP License in Kentucky, with inpatient psychiatric experience being preferred. Essential abilities include computer literacy, knowledge of substance abuse impacts, adherence to 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality rules, and the capacity to handle crisis situations calmly.
