The technologist performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to ensure proper radiologic diagnosis, which includes confirming patient identity, explaining procedures, and managing patient safety and comfort during examinations. Key duties also involve radiation protection, operating various radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment, producing high-quality images, and maintaining equipment functionality.
Candidates should ideally be a graduate of an approved two-year program and must possess a minimum of six months of experience to be fully proficient. Required licensure includes an RT or RT Temp Radiography Technology license in Massachusetts, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
