The Respiratory Therapist provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under medical direction, primarily by administering therapeutic respiratory care procedures. Essential duties also include completing required documentation for monitoring effectiveness and performing diagnostic respiratory procedures.
Candidates must be a graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program and possess Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or a Temporary Practice Permit (TPP). Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is required before the TPP expires, along with mandatory CPR certification and criminal background clearances.

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%) Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%) Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%) Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%) Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program. Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP). Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP). CPR – American Heart Association. Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate. Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate. Preferred Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT Two years' experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.
