The Ultrasound Technologist operates advanced imaging equipment to produce high-resolution internal body images for diagnosis and monitoring across specialties like obstetrics, cardiology, and vascular medicine. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic ultrasound imaging, providing compassionate patient care and education, maintaining equipment, and collaborating closely with radiologists and physicians.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited ultrasound program, along with one year of relevant clinical sonography experience. Candidates must also possess Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification through ARDMS and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
