Under the supervision of a physical therapist, the assistant provides for patient needs, administers modalities, therapeutic exercises, rehabilitative therapy, and manages orthopedic/adaptive equipment use. This role involves assisting physical therapists with treatments and procedures, carrying out established treatment plans, and documenting patient progress within those established parameters.
Candidates must be a graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant program and hold a current physical therapy assistant license in the state of Virginia. Additional considerations include experience working in an outpatient orthopedic Physical Therapy Department.
