The resident physician is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care across hospital and outpatient settings while developing the knowledge and experience needed for independent medical practice. Key duties include participating in supervised patient care, engaging in scholarly activities like research, and adhering to institutional policies and procedures.
Candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree as a minimum education requirement. Licensure mandates obtaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within four days of hire.
Provide direct and indirect patient care in various healthcare settings including in-hospital and outpatient clinics. Primary responsible is to obtain knowledge and experience necessary to progress to independent medical practice without direct supervision.
