About Transplant & Oncology Infectious Disease Specialists of Georgia Patients undergoing a transplant, who have cancer, or are getting cancer treatment, often have a higher risk of getting an infection.
Your immune system helps your body protect itself from getting an infection.
However, after a bone marrow transplant your immune system is weak and at risk for infection.
Additionally, cancer and chemotherapy can damage your immune system by reducing the number of infection-fighting white blood cells.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, and with medical consultation and direction, performs physical, psycho-social assessment; establishes medical diagnosis; orders and evaluate diagnostic tests; manages follow up care; does other related work as required.
