Position Summary
Assists in patient treatment with Dentist and assists the Dental Department with patient flow, sterilization and asepsis of equipment, dental outside lab procedures; maintains appropriate inventory levels and performs dental x-rays. Educated and expected to competently care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient (age 3 – 100 +). Must be certified to take radiographs /graduate of an approved dental assistant program.

- EDUCATION: Minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required. Graduate of a certified dental assistant program (or equivalent, such as 1 year experience in a dental office doing chair side or completion of Armed Forces training) is also required.

- REGISTRATIONS: Must be certified in radiographs /or graduate of a certified dental program in order to perform x-rays. Must have a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Dental Assistant License.

- SKILLS: Knowledge of oral hygiene and dental assistance functions. Excellent manual dexterity, and ability to perform detailed and accurate work. Excellent interpersonal skills that demonstrate concern and caring attitude towards patients, family members and staff. Basic computer proficiency inclusive of ability to enter and access data/information.
- Compensation
- Range: $21.39- $30.05 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
