The technologist competently performs routine and specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) procedures to generate quality diagnostic images for physicians. This role requires working independently, exercising sound judgment, and ensuring patient safety and cooperation through effective communication and monitoring.
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program and possess a minimum of 3 years of recent relevant experience. Required certifications include BLS, CRT, and ARRT certifications for both CT and MR, with a potential requirement for Radiology Fluoroscopy certification within 180 days of hire.
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 Days of hire if required at the affiliate CVENI-Certified Venipuncture ARRT(CT)-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Computer Tomography ARRT(MR)-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Magnetic Resonance Imaging TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 3 years recent relevant experience SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various emergencies. Capable of performing routine MRI examinations as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline. General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS). Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions. Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options. Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
