This role involves direct patient care within the Operating Room, including data collection and performing unit-specific treatments such as IVs, phlebotomy, EKG, and various forms of patient care under the direction of a staff nurse. The technician is also responsible for processing medical orders, accurate specimen labeling, documentation, and maintaining necessary unit supplies and equipment.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and be certified as a Nursing Assistant through the Maryland Board of Nursing. A requirement also includes holding the American Heart Association BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
Contributes to the provision of high quality, cost effective health care through direct care of patients and collaboration with other health team members.
