The Peer Recovery Advocate provides recovery support services to consumers in a Part 820 residential program, documenting all services according to regulatory standards. Responsibilities include delivering individual and group coaching, advocacy, outreach, and organizing pro-social activities both on-site and in the community.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, and prior experience working with the target population is necessary. Applicants should be able to share life experiences appropriately, possess good interpersonal skills, and must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Position Title: Peer Recovery Advocate
Reports to: Clinical Supervisor
The Peer Recovery Advocate is responsible for providing recovery support services to consumers participating in a Part 820 residential program. The Peer Recovery Advocate documents all provided services in a manner that is compliant with regulatory and funding standards. He/she delivers services to program participants both on-site and in the community.
· Contribute to the development of the ethical framework for delivery of recovery services and conducts all recovery coaching activities within this framework. · Document all recovery services in accordance with state and managed care regulations. · Provide guidance, support and recovery coaching both individually and in group settings for participants in accordance with the treatment plan and engages in recovery activities and support services. · Provide advocacy, outreach, empowerment, transitional, pre-crisis and crisis supports activities on-site and in the community. · Accompany clients to appointments and other community-based activities. · Organize pro-social activities and events. · Participate in outreach events to represent the agency · Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings. · Attend all required in-service training seminars. · Participate in quality improvement activities. · Other relevant duties as required.
· High School Diploma or equivalent. · Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CPRA) / Provisional certification / CPS/ CPS-Provisional preferred. If the applicant does not hold this certification, then they obtain within one-year of employment. · Prior experience working with the target population. · Ability and willingness to share life experience in a manner appropriate to the consumers served. · Good interpersonal skills, enthusiastic about recovery. · Ability to speak, read and write the English language. · Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. · Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
