Stephens Memorial Hospital has a job opening for a PRN Ultrasound Technologist.

Position Summary

• The Ultrasound Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging team by performing ultrasound examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.
• This position requires the technologist to operate sophisticated ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of patients’ internal organs, tissues, and blood flow.
• The technologist must ensure patient comfort and safety while accurately following physician instructions and protocols.
• They are responsible for preparing patients for procedures, explaining the process, and maintaining detailed records of imaging results.
• Ultimately, the Ultrasound Technologist contributes to patient care by providing essential diagnostic information that supports effective medical decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or ultrasound technology program.
• Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent credential.
• Valid state licensure to practice as an ultrasound technologist, if required by the state of employment.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to ultrasound imaging.
• Demonstrated ability to operate ultrasound equipment and perform a variety of ultrasound procedures safely and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with specialized ultrasound modalities such as vascular, obstetric, abdominal, or cardiac sonography.
