The Therapist/Counselor provides community-based mental health services, including individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy. They are responsible for maintaining a consistent client schedule, completing timely clinical documentation, and engaging in community outreach.
Candidates must have a graduate or doctoral degree in a clinically relevant field and current licensure as a mental health professional. A minimum of two years of counseling or therapy experience is required, preferably in a community-based setting.

Our mission is to enable individuals and families to reach their full potential in body, mind, and spirit, using evidence-based counseling and educational services. Services offered by WTCG include individual therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, premarital counseling, couples and family counseling, veteran services, children's play therapy, and anger management.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Services Provide evidence-based, ethical psychotherapy and counseling to clients across diverse populations. Conduct risk assessments and safety planning for clients presenting with potential harm to self or others and implement appropriate safety plans or referrals Empower clients within their natural support systems and refer to community services when appropriate. Maintain client records and documentation in compliance with agency policies and within three (3) business days. Ensure adherence to scope of practice, licensure standards, and all applicable privacy regulations (HIPAA, Texas Health & Safety Code, Chapter 181).
Graduate or doctoral degree in a clinically relevant field. Current licensure as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC or LPC-S) Licensed Professional Counselor Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) under LCSW supervision Minimum two (2) years of counseling or therapy experience, preferably in a community-based setting. Strong public speaking, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of community resources and social service systems. Training in suicide prevention and crisis intervention. Clinical competence or certification in at least one specialized area (e.g., ACT, Gottman, RPT, EMDR, CPT) within two years of hire. Knowledge and experience in the identification and reporting of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Must pass a comprehensive background check. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurability required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish); Veteran status; Texas licensure; experience treating substance use disorders, eating disorders, children, Veterans and families, traumatic brain injury (TBI), or personality disorders.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office or telehealth setting with occasional community outreach. Requires the ability to sit, stand, and use standard office equipment for extended periods. May occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Approximately 5–10% travel to surrounding areas; frequency varies based on clinical supervision, community events, and organizational priorities.
