They prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, applying electrodes to the scalp, and ensuring proper equipment setup. EEG technicians operate specialized machines to capture brain wave data, monitor patients during testing, and identify irregular patterns for physician review. They maintain accurate records, ensure patient comfort and safety, and may assist neurologists in interpreting results while adhering to clinical standards and protocols.
