The pharmacy technician will assist in the technical and non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and support pharmacy operations. They will also maintain competency in the compounding of sterile IV medications.
Candidates must be a high school graduate or have a GED, with at least 2 years of previous hospital pharmacy technician experience. They should also have completed sterile compounding training and hold an active Registered Pharmacy Technician certification.
The pharmacy technician, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical and non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and assist in pharmacy operations. Can participate as a member of a team with reliability and punctuality. Does related work, as required. Maintain competency in the compounding of sterile IV medications.
High School graduate or GED. 2+ year’s previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs). Completion of sterile compounding training/competency (as required by State BOP). Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by state of employment. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
