Position Summary

• The ED Tech is responsible for assisting the healthcare team members in delivering patient care to emergency room patients.
• This includes preparing patients for examinations and treatments, taking patient vital signs, obtaining specimens, initiating and maintaining IV saline locks.
• This position is responsible for setting up rooms with necessary supplies and equipment and assisting physicians and staff nurses during treatments.
• Gathers patient information for emergency room patients in the functional areas of admissions, discharges, insurance verification and emergency room treatment records.
• At least one year of experience as a nursing assistance, EMT, monitor tech, or unit secretary, preferably in the area of application.
• Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards under the supervision of an RN.

Required Education/Licensing

High School Diploma Current BLS/ACLS/PALS IV Experience (preferred) 1 year in hospital or related field desired
