The Medical Coder is responsible for accurate coding, charge verification, and data abstraction for billing purposes. They ensure compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations to guarantee proper reimbursement.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and hold a CPC or CCS-P certification. A minimum of two years of practical coding experience is required.
The Medical Coder Certified is responsible for accurate coding, charge verification, and data abstraction necessary for billing in various professional healthcare settings. Works from the appropriate documentation in the medical record. Classification systems include ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, as well as other specialty systems as required by diagnostic category. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations to guarantee proper reimbursement.
High School Diploma or GED Certification Certified Professional Coder - CPC Or Certified Coding Specialist Physician - CCS-P Work Experience and
Minimum of two (2) years in practical coding experience is required. Coders are held to high standard; best practices are to achieve a greater than 95%25 accuracy rate during coding assessments.
