Job Summary

• The Certified Pharmacy Technician will be working in the Pharmacy department supporting the hospital needs. Assists and supports the Pharmacy Department, in providing the correct drugs or IV solutions, in the correct amount, for the correct patients, at the correct time. The Pharmacy Certified Technician works directly under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. This position should consistently demonstrate an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose the appropriate course of action. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the Certified Pharmacy Technician has primary responsibility in the re-stocking of anesthesia drug boxes and floor stock in the OR, PACU, Pre-op and PSU; unit dose packaging; charging; receiving and stocking within the pharmacy; compounding sterile products; unit inspections; maintaining appropriate records; and assisting in related activities as directed by the Pharmacy Director/Pharmacist-In-Charge.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and registered with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy
• Minimum 1 year inpatient hospital experience; sterile product compounding preferred
• Good organizational, problem solving and computer skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts.
