The medical social worker assesses the psychosocial status of patients and develops intervention plans to support their health and environment. They also maintain clinical records, participate in discharge planning, and serve as a liaison between patients, families, and community agencies.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in social work and be licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). A minimum of one year of experience in health care and current CPR certification are required.
