• JOB DESCRIPTION Evaluates patient’s functional status (muscular function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity).
• Evaluates home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living.
• Reporting to physician and case manager of patient’s reaction to treatment or changes on condition.
• For patients who plan to return to work, the occupational therapist may perform work capacity evaluation and may refer to specialized vocational training.
• Develops treatment program and establishes goals for improved function.
• Communicates plan of care to referring physician and case manager.
• May teach new skills or retrain patient in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury.
• May fabricate splints and instruct in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function.
• Prepare and submit clinical progress summaries based on the attainment of goals and attends and participates in in-services, case conference, and patient care conferences.

Requirements

Current Occupational Therapist license in CA Valid driver's license, auto insurance and dependable vehicle Minimum 1 year experience. Home Health setting preferable.
