The Life Enrichment Assistant assists in planning and executing daily activities for senior residents while supervising volunteers. The role also involves acting on behalf of the Director of Life Enrichment when they are not present in the facility.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one to two years of experience working with the elderly. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills are required for this position.
Title: Life Enrichment Assistant Job Codes: 00003OH; 00003XX Division: Senior Living Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Life Enrichment/Life Enrichment Leader Revision date: March 2019 Supervises: n/a PURPOSE According to prescribed policies and procedures including all applicable state, federal and accreditation regulations and under the supervision of the Director of Life Enrichment/Life Enrichment Leader, assumes responsibilities for assisting the Director/Leader in planning and executing all life enrichment activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists the Director of Life Enrichment/Life Enrichment Leader in scheduling and developing life enrichment activities. Assists in recruiting, directing, and supervising all volunteers. Acts on behalf of the Director of Life Enrichment any time he/she is not in the facility. Leads activities on scheduled work days. EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, provides leadership as a role model to promote a team approach, collaborates and participates in policy creation and appropriate problem solving methods. Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws. With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families and the staff. Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws. Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties. Performs other duties as assigned. 2 JOB SPECIFICATION SHEET—Life Enrichment Assistant Education: Completed high school education or equivalent.
One to two years of working with the elderly required.
Must have good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
Must have working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and World Wide Web.
