The Cath Lab Tech assists physicians with imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, and procedural support during cardiac catheterization. They are responsible for maintaining sterile environments, calibrating monitoring equipment, and ensuring patient safety throughout the diagnostic and treatment process.
Candidates must hold a two-year radiologic technology degree with ARRT registry, a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification, or an equivalent Allied Health degree. Two years of related experience is preferred, along with mandatory certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and Mandatory Reporter status.
· Completion of a two-year training program in radiologic technology and ARRT registry, with a valid Iowa Radiology technologist permit to practice, OR a graduate of Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification program OR an Advanced medical training degree (Associate of Science degree or Associate’s degree in paramedic, or Allied Health Profession) · Two years of related experience preferred · Basic Life Support required within 3 months of hire.
