The surgical technologist is responsible for gathering surgical supplies, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. They must ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and provide safe patient care during surgical procedures.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and be enrolled in or graduated from an accredited surgical technologist program. Certification by NBSTSA or NCCT and current registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine are required.
