The surgical technician provides clinical expertise by preparing the operative suite, maintaining surgical asepsis, and assisting physicians and anesthesia personnel during procedures. They are also responsible for patient preparation, transportation, and ensuring the procedure room is ready for subsequent use.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in an operating room setting. A Scrub Technician Program Certification is preferred, along with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
We are seeking a Surgical Tech for our surgery center who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality patient care. Expected Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week Work Locations: Federal Way and Tacoma Roles and Responsibilities Demonstrate necessary practical, technical and specialized skills required for the role of the surgical technician in accordance with AST. Assist in preparing the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments. Ensure that surgical asepsis is maintained in the handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings. Assist in the turnover of the OR suites between cases. Assists with the preparation, transportation, and monitoring of patients. Provides assistance to team members, physicians, and anesthesia personnel as needed (i.e. reliability, initiative, work relations, training needs). Reviews physicians' preference cards and updates as needed. Ability to handle stress associated with prioritizing multiple tasks. Prepare procedure room for use the following day. Performs other tasks as assigned. Experience Requirements One-year experience in an operating room setting required. Progressive job history with minimum changes and progressive growth. Self-Motivated with problem-solving skills Communication skills Strong organization skills Ability to work as a team member Punctual and Dependable Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. Scrub Technician Program Certification preferred. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
