The coordinator will manage clinical trials and research projects for the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Center Program, including regulatory activities and biorepository maintenance. They are responsible for educating patients, reconciling data management issues, and participating in research committees.
Candidates must hold at least a bachelor's degree in any field, with higher levels requiring one to two years of clinical research experience. Preferred qualifications include a science-related degree and experience with electronic data capture systems.
Entry Level: Bachelor’s degree in any field. Intermediate Level: Bachelor’s degree in any field. One (1) year clinical research or related experience. Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree in any field. Two (2) years clinical research or related experience. A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field. Three (3) years of clinical research or related experience. Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems). One (1) to two (2) years of experience coordinating and managing administrative and clinical research activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding customer service skills. Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information. Independent judgment as well as self-directed work capability. Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively multi-task. Ability to establish work priorities and handle multiple deadlines. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and documents and maintain strict confidentiality, per HIPAA guidelines. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, PeopleSoft, and COGNOS. Knowledge and experience with IRB policies and procedures. Ability to initiate and maintain effective lines of communication with other areas/departments/sponsors.
