The Medical Intern provides medically assisted treatment and primary care to patients with substance abuse disorders under the supervision of the Medical Director. Responsibilities include conducting patient intakes, monitoring medications, and maintaining accurate medical records throughout the detox and residential levels of care.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program at an affiliated school. Applicants must be recommended by their school and successfully complete the RCA onboarding process.
The Medical Intern at an RCA facility is responsible for the provision of medically assisted treatment and limited primary care to patients with substance abuse disorder, including short term chronic disease management, medication assisted treatment, and pain management within the facility. The Medical Intern is responsible for providing quality, sufficient and appropriate services and for maintaining high professional standards. It is the responsibility of this position to model and maintain high professional conduct and standards among all medical area staff and consultants.
