The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood samples using various venipuncture methods and transporting them to the laboratory for diagnostic testing. They also track sample progress, perform routine clinical tests, and maintain laboratory equipment.
Candidates must have completed an approved phlebotomy training program and possess basic computer literacy skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required to accurately record information and interact with patient areas.
The Phlebotomist draws blood samples to be used for diagnostic testing and transports samples to the appropriate laboratory. Provides updates to the patient areas on results of the tests. Performs appropriate CLIA waived routine tests or procedures in a clinical laboratory.
