The Mental Health Counselor provides individual and family counseling to children, adolescents, and adults within an integrated care setting. They are responsible for maintaining accurate records and delivering compassionate care while adhering to best practice standards.
Requirements summary
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field and possess a current Texas LPC or LPC-A license. At least two years of outpatient counseling experience and proficiency with electronic health records are preferred.

Essential duties and responsibilities
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Works from a strengths-based perspective and empowers patients appropriately within their natural support systems
Serves all patients with compassion, many of whom have experienced past or present exposure to trauma, chronic medical conditions, poverty, and healthcare disparities
Provides a high level of customer service consistent with best practice standards in the mental health field
Maintains confidentiality
Maintains required records
Education and/Or experience
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field required
Current Texas licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) required
Two (2) or more years of outpatient counseling/therapy experience, preferably in a community health setting, preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Knowledge of and experience with mandated reporting requirements, including identification and reporting of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children, elderly individuals, and persons with disabilities
Requirements
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation
SKILLS
Proficient in the use of electronic health records
EPIC experience a plus
TRAVEL
This position is located in Chapel Hill and requires occasional ability to travel to FCC site in Tyler.
