The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with physicians to deliver specialized healthcare services to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions. They are responsible for assessing patient needs and providing care within their scope of certification and education.
Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and possess a valid Mississippi State Licensure. Additionally, they must maintain relevant specialty certifications such as BCLS and meet specific experience requirements based on the department.

Job Description: Summary
Position Overview: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice RN working in collaboration with physicians to deliver health care services to meet the specialized physiologic and psychological needs of patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions. The NP delivers health care services to a population of patients within their scope of certification and education. Requires successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Mississippi State Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required.
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Geriatric Nurse Practitioner required. Must complete and maintain BCLS upon hire and/or transfer. If works in Psychiatric Services, must maintain current Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). If works in Surgical Services, must complete and maintain BCLS and ACLS certifications upon hire and/or transfer. If works in Pediatrics, current specialty certification as required by department; Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) preferred. Must complete and maintain BCLS and PALS certifications upon hire and/or transfer. If works in Wound Care, current specialty certification as required by department; Must complete and maintain BCLS and ACLS certifications upon hire and/or transfer. Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
