The Clinical Assistant performs administrative tasks such as scheduling and medical record maintenance while providing clinical support including vital signs, blood draws, and medication administration. They work under the direction of a physician to prepare patients for examinations and assist with various diagnostic procedures.
Candidates must hold a Certificate of Completion from a Medical Assistant Program, be a Registered Medical Assistant, or be a licensed LPN. Proficiency in clinical procedures, EMR/EHR systems, and a typing speed of over 30 WPM are required.

Hiring Clinical Assistants for Sparta Community Hospital. We have several clinics in and around Sparta including Steeleville, Coulterville and Marissa.
This full-time position offers 72 hours per pay period. The ideal candidate should possess a Certificate of Completion from a Medical Assistant Program, be a Registered Medical Assistant, or Licensed LPN. Additional qualifications include experience in a Physician Office and essential skills such as injection administration, including immunizations and venipuncture.
The Clinical Assistant is responsible for performing administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may encompass taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications and immunizations as directed by the physician.
This position requires proficiency in vital signs assessment, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, setting up sterile fields, nebulizer and spirometry procedures, as well as waived testing such as strep screening, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, and glucose testing. Familiarity with an EMR/EHR is preferred, accompanied by excellent customer service, phone, and computer skills. A typing speed of over 30 WPM is necessary, along with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively within a team.
