The Registered Nurse oversees patient care, medication administration, and nursing staff performance within a residential recovery facility. They are responsible for monitoring withdrawal symptoms, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring compliance with state health codes and facility policies.
Candidates must hold a current Texas Registered Nursing (RN) license and possess either an associate or bachelor's degree. Strong communication skills, professional attitude, and the ability to coordinate care across diverse backgrounds are required.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for enhancing the provision of care within the nursing department. The Registered Nurse will enhance the functions and performances of the nurses and the residential care technicians while providing services to patients as needed. Additionally, you will monitor patient’s medication regimes prescribed by the physician while the patient resides at the facility. The RN will be responsible for checking patient’s withdrawal symptoms as well as reporting to the Medical Director. As a RN of the facility, you will oversee medications throughout the day while engaging in record keeping, documentation, and assisting your patients with their medical needs. The records must meet the needs of the doctor as well as meet the standards of the state health codes. As the RN, you will be responsible for overseeing all records for overseeing all records kept on medications and vital signs on the on the patients and any protocols ordered by the medical director.
Oversee other licensed and non-licensed staff in the day-to-day delivery of patient care. Monitor and assess patients for withdrawal symptoms using appropriate tools (e.g., CIWA, COWS), and respond appropriately to changes in condition. Prepare and review medical records, nurses’ notes to evaluate the resident’s physical and emotional status. Oversee LVN staff on duty and audit/review charts daily Providing nursing care according to the Physician’s orders, care plans, established standards, policies, and procedures. Prepare and pass medications in accordance with nursing standards and facility policies Sign, date and perform all charting, record keeping, and care plans in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provide outstanding individualized resident care. Ensuring medication orders are up-to-date and accurate Ensures compliance with all medical/nursing and regulations for THHS and Joint Commission Audits charts weekly for compliance QualificationsEducation Requirements: Current Registered Nursing (RN) License in Texas required Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University Preferred Job Requirements: Excellent communication skills Basic computer skills Must have valid Driver’s License Expert communication skills and counseling abilities Ability to coordinate with professionals from diverse backgrounds, working at distinct levels Commitment to the philosophy of recovery and continuity of the program and of consideration and respect of clients Customer service oriented, professional attitude Current TB Test, CPR/First Aid PM21
