The Peer Recovery Specialist provides recovery-oriented support services to patients with substance use disorders by developing individualized recovery plans and facilitating care coordination. They maintain accurate clinical documentation and connect patients with community resources to support their ongoing recovery journey.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in mental health or substance use. The role requires the ability to obtain a Peer Recovery Specialist certification within one year of hire.

Peer Recovery Specialist Summary Responsible for providing recovery-oriented support services to patients with substance use disorders.Leverages experience and training to foster hope, purpose, and empowerment in patients actively engaged intheir recovery journey. Contributes to the development and implementation of individualized recovery supportplans and participates in treatment team meetings and individual patient planning meetings. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Works in a normal office environment where there are relatively few discomforts due to dust, dirt, noiseand the like. May be exposed to inclement weather, when traveling to various locations. Some exposure to hazards when driving, but potential for harm is limited if safe vehicle operationprocedures are followed.
Range begins at $16.92/hr - $24.47/hr Gateway Foundation conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
