The Nutritionist Assistant supports the WIC program by gathering nutrition assessment data, performing anthropometric and hematological measurements, and providing clinic support. They also assist in nutrition education activities, breastfeeding promotion, and the issuance of food packages.
A High School Diploma is required, with post-high school education preferred. Candidates should have at least one year of experience working with children and families and possess strong customer service and computer skills.
Description Assist the WIC Nutritionists and the Nutrition Coordinator in the implementation and promotion of nutrition education activities in the WIC Program. The Nutrition Assistant will provide support to the nutrition staff, including gathering information for nutrition assessment process, obtaining anthropometric and hematological data, as trained.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Education and Experience: High School Diploma required. Post high school education preferred. One year of experience working with children and families Computer skills required. Knowledge of the NYWIC preferred Demonstrate strong customer service skills. Ability to work with diverse public and availability to work on weekend. Bilingual is a plus: Spanish, French or Creole Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
