The Advanced Practice Provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries in an urgent care setting. They are responsible for performing physical exams, ordering diagnostic tests, and executing minor medical procedures while maintaining accurate patient records.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with a current, unrestricted state license. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care is preferred, along with relevant board certifications.
Advanced Practice Provider (APP) (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides high-quality, patient-centered urgent care services to patients of all ages. The APP evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute illnesses and minor injuries in a fast-paced urgent care setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, procedural skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff. Essential
Perform comprehensive and focused histories and physical examinations. Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, X-rays, EKGs). Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, foreign body removal, and other minor procedures. Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations. Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care. Determine appropriate disposition (discharge, referral, emergency department transfer). Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team members. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) - Experity. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings as required.
Education & Certification Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (FNP/ENP preferred) or Physician Assistant program. Current, unrestricted state license. DEA registration. Board certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent). Current BLS certification required. ACLS and PALS preferred (or required based on patient population) DOT Certification Experience Minimum 1–2 years of urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience preferred. Experience with pediatric and adult populations preferred. Proficiency in common urgent care procedures.
